All repositories established inside the University of Minnesota Enterprise are contained in the Enterprise by policy. Content from inside the enterprise cannot be forked to a personal account.

Public#

Public repositories can only be published by organization owners and careful considerations should be made for which content is made public to protect. Code that touches systems that contain protected data should not be made public without consultation from University Information Security.

See Code Privacy for more on considerations when publishing code in public repositories.

Internal#

Internal repositories can be published by any member of an organization by default and the content is visible to other members of the Enterprise (including members in separate github organizations). Internal repositories allow teams from different organizations to collaborate easier between organizations.

Private#

Private repositories will only be visible to your organization.
